Mentioned in connexion with the camping of the israelites. It was 'between Migdol and the sea, before Baal-zephon' (Ex 14:9). This definition does not enable us to fix its site, for these other places are themselves unknown. In Nu 33:8 the name is simply Hahiroth.
Then the Egyptians chased after them with all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, his horsemen and his army, and they overtook them camping by the sea, beside Pi-hahiroth, in front of Baal-zephon.
They journeyed from before Hahiroth and passed through the midst of the sea into the wilderness; and they went three days' journey in the wilderness of Etham and camped at Marah.
